If only Jack and the lost crew had had the possibility of keeping in touch or connecting to radars when the plane crashed onto that particular island, if only one of the passengers of the Oceanic Flight 815 had had the Breitling Emergency watch that features emergency frequency, the story would have been much different and the whole crew would have probably survived.
Lost is an American serial drama television series that follows the lives of the survivors that could make it from the plane crash on a mysterious tropical island, after a commercial passenger jet flying between Sydney, Australia and Los Angeles, United States crashes somewhere in the South Pacific.
According to the Breitling Emergency, the wristwatch was designed for pilots and aircrews featuring a built-in microtransmitter broadcasting on the 121.5 Mhz aircraft emergency frequency. If something not regular during a flight occurred, the Emergency will send a signal through which the aircraft could be found. This Emergency’s transmitter is activated by unscrewing a protective cap and pulling the antenna out fully starting the broadcast for the next 48 hours.

An extremely fine late 18th Century gilt brass and enamel 1 1/2-inch three-draw refracting telescope, engraved on the largest draw-tube "J.J. Cambacérès à Napoléon Mai 10, 1800"
(Napoleon Bonaparte)
Napoleon Bonaparte's telescope
One of the greatest military leaders in history, and emperor of France from 1799 until 1815, he conquered much of Europe. He helped remake the map of Europe and established many government and legal reforms, most notably the "Napoleonic Code". According to the engraved inscription on the draw-tube, this telescope was given to Napoleon Bonaparte (15 August 1769 - 5 May 1821) by Jean-Jacques de Cambacérès on 10 May 1800. It was given to him in Geneva on this date as 'Napoleon had left Paris, to join the blockaded army in. He stayed for 3 nights with de Saussure, studied maps of the St. Bernard, arranged the timetable for the march and made the necessary appointments for the commanders of the advance guard (Lannes) and cavalry (Murat).
It is interesting to note that the famous oil painting depicting Napoleon on a prancing steed ("Napoleon crossing the Alps" by Jacques-Louis David, 1800, oil on canvas, 260 x 221 cms), is from exactly this period, when Napoleon crossed the St. Bernard in May 1800.
Jean-Jacques Cambacérès, a notorious bachelor and heavy smoker of Virginia tobacco, had a preference for subjects "à l'antique", and his importance for the history of freemasonry should not be neglected. These two characteristics are perfectly reflected in his collection of gold boxes which also witnesses the change of taste in the applied arts in France from the Louis XVI style to Neoclassicism and Empire.
Fifteen fine enamel snuff boxes from Cambacérès' collection were sold at Christie's Geneva on 15 November 1994.
On May 9th and 10th Antiquorum will auction over 300 fine timepieces at the Grand Hotel Kempinski, in Geneva. Previews were held in Shanghai April 26 and 27, Hong Kong April 29 and 30, and Geneva May 7 - 10.
The highlight of the sale is the Patek Philippe Ref. 1436 featuring stainless steel split-seconds chronograph. More than unique, only four examples of this model were produced and only three survived. It is said to be one of the first two watch generation to ever exist. This wristwatch was produced in 1945 and then sold on May 11, 1949. It is the first time ever that this watch will be offered at auction. The pre-sale estimated goes from $ 600,000 to $ 800,000.
The action will also offer a Patek Philippe Tiffany split-seconds wristwatch produced in 1928 and sold on September 23, 1938. This 18K yellow gold wristwatch features a single-button split-seconds chronograph, vertical 30-minute register, constant seconds, and mobile lugs. The pre-sale estimated goes from $ 800,000 to $ 1,200,000.
Between many other significant timepieces, another watch included in the auction is another Patek Philippe Ref. 5016 P that features a unique dial. This watch was originally sold on November 13, 2001. This piece in platinum includes a minute-repeater, one-minute tourbillon regulator, retrograde perpetual calendar and moon phases. John Fitzgerald Kennedy
(President John F. Kennedy)
On November 22, 1963, when he was hardly past his first thousand days in office, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was killed by an assassin's bullets as his motorcade wound through Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was the youngest man elected President; he was the youngest to die.
Of Irish descent, he was born in Brookline, Massachusetts, on May 29, 1917. Graduating from Harvard in 1940, he entered the Navy. In 1943, when his PT boat was rammed and sunk by a Japanese destroyer, Kennedy, despite grave injuries, led the survivors through perilous waters to safety.
Back from the war, he became a Democratic Congressman from the Boston area, advancing in 1953 to the Senate. He married Jacqueline Bouvier on September 12, 1953. In 1955, while recuperating from a back operation, he wrote Profiles in Courage, which won the Pulitzer Prize in history.
In 1960, winning by a narrow margin in the popular vote, Kennedy became the first Roman Catholic President. He took vigorous action in the cause of equal rights, calling for new civil rights legislation. He wished America to resume its old mission as the first nation dedicated to the revolution of human rights. With the Alliance for Progress and the Peace Corps, he brought American idealism to the aid of developing nations. But the hard reality of the Communist challenge remained.
Aristotle Sokratis Onassis was one of the prominent shipping magnates of the 20th century. Some sources say he was born in 1900 and later changed his age to 16 so as to avoid deportation from Turkey.
(Aristotle Onassis)
Aristotle's father had a fleet of 10 ships with 40 sailors. This enterprise was a financial success enabling him to send Onassis and his sisters to prestigious schools. At the age of 16, Aristotle spoke four languages: Spanish, Turkish, English and Greek.
After being briefly occupied by Greece in the aftermath of the allied victory in World War I, Smyrna was re-captured by Turkey; the Onassis substantial family holdings were lost, causing them to become refugees fleeing to Greece. During this period Ari lost three uncles and one aunt with her husband Chrysostomos Konialidis and their daughter, who burned to death when the Turks set fire to a church in Thyatira where 500 Christians were seeking shelter.
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
(Jackie Kennedy and Aristotle Onassis)
Onassis ended his relationship with Callas to marry Jacqueline Kennedy, widow of 35th U.S. President John F. Kennedy, on October 20, 1968. It was saidthat Kennedy insisted on marriage rather than an affair so as to avoid upsetting her children.
According to Peter Evans, Jacqueline received US$3 million for her and $1m for each son as an offer if she accepted marriage. Using a rate of return of 8% a year, from 1968, it would be equivalent to US$65m and US$22m respectively in 2008 value. After Onassis's death she would receive US$150,000 ($3.25m using the same calculus) each year until the end of her life. The whole marital contract was discussed with Teddy Kennedy and later reviewed by André Meyer, Jacqueline's financial consultant. Christina, Onassis daughter, made clear that she didn't like Jacqueline, and after Alexander's death, she convinced his father that Jacqueline had some kind of curse due to John and Robert Kennedy's murders.
The relations between Aristotle and Jacqueline that were already balanced came to an end.During his lifetime Onassis was one of the richest men in the world and one of the most famous. Just like Rockefeller his name has become synonymous with wealth.
German BMW tuners G Power claim to have built the fastest BMW Coupe ever created: G-POWER M6 HURRICANE CS. The company says the G-Power M6 Hurricane CS has a top speed of over 370 km/h.
(BMW G-POWER M6 HURRICANE CS)
By using the same twin-supercharged V10 SK III RS found on their M5 Hurricane CS, the car that used the 750 hp engine to claim World's Fastest Sedan last year, marking a top speed of 367.6 km/h, the M6 should be able to top that, as it features a more aerodynamic body than the sedan. Air is cooled down by a water-to-air cast-aluminum intercooler and hard-pressed into two ASA T1-316 belt-driven superchargers. BMW claims no typical supercharger lag with these units, saying that throttle response is immediate, as is the increase in torque. Peak torque output is 800 Nm at about 5,000 rpm. Weight was cut down everywhere, with upgrades made to the exhaust, the seats, and suspension. New carbon fibre wide-body kit with new front apron, vented bonnet, rockers, wheel arches, diffuser, rear apron, and rear wing, keeps the car on the ground. Connecting the car to the road are Micheline Pilot Sport PS2 tires, wrapped around 19-inch custom light-alloys. Carbon-ceramic brakes, and six-piston calipers, provide extreme deceleration.
(BMW G-POWER M6 HURRICANE CS's ENGINE)
Tire and wheel changes were necessary for the speed tests. G-Power says the 21-inch Silverstone Diamond wheels and the normal tires used would not survive beyond 340 km/h. To make their point as emphatic as possible, the G-Power M6 Hurricane CS has a speedometer that reaches up to 400 km/h. Price starting at €360,000.
The GT3 is a lighter and sportier version developed by Porsche’s colleagues in the motorsports department, with a laser-like focus on the key attributes of light weight, aerodynamics, driving dynamics and power. The GT3 is also a very exclusive car.
GT3 owners describe their cars as addictive, both insanely fast and extremely responsive. It does react with such an immediacy to every input, that it allows instant connection between driver and asphalt.
The biggest change: the engine bay with a displacement of 3.8 liters instead of 3.6 as it used to be. The results: in a 20 horsepower hike to 435 hp at 7,600 rpm and an increase in torque to 317 pound-feet at 6,250 rpm. The dash to 100 kilometers an hour now takes 4.1 seconds, 2/10ths of a second quicker than before and top speed is rated at 312 km/h.
(Porsche 911 GT3 2010)
The new GT3 features an improved version of the Porsche Stability Management system (PSM), that only intervenes when the situation truly calls for it. Two worthwhile options will be offered on the new GT3: the first is a front-end lift system that raises the front end by 30 millimeters to clear steep driveways without scraping the lip of the front spoiler on the ground and, the second, entails dynamic engine mounts that can have their stiffness adjusted by way of an electrically charged viscous fluid with magnetic particles in it. This allows a complete elimination of engine movement when driving in high-speed bends or during acceleration runs.

James Bond’s movies have been among the most popular since the very beginning. Watches and cars played a very significant role as survival gadgets. James Bond, known for his good taste and sophistication, has a very refined style. Always seen surrounded by beautiful women, driving the most desirable cars and traveling to the most exclusive places around the globe. Watches has always been a very defining part of the character so, as important as it is, he has been choosing the most luxurious ones. Not only he wore Rolex watches, but also he has worn Omega’s watches and Seiko’s watches as well. He was as well given specialty watches from Q-Branch, with gadgets such as a powerful magnet, perhaps best used when he unzipped a dress or a wrist dart gun as seen in Octopussy.
James Bond Omega Seamaster
(Omega Seamaster Professional 300m)
For over a decade, the Omega Seamaster Professional 300m, has been James Bond’s choise. This watch features a Co-Axial Escapement for precision timekeeping and it is also water resistant to 300m. It features a 41 mm case diameter This Watch has been worn since 1995, when it was Bond’s choice for GoldenEye movie, worn by Pierce Brosnan.
James Bond Rolex Submariner
James Bond wore a Rolex Submariner, although this fact wass never explicitly revealed in any of the novels and the Submariner model 6204 wasn't released until 1954, a year after the first Bond novel, Rolex turned to be the chosen watch brand. When James Bond, the character, was introduced to us in the film Dr. No (1962) played by Sean Connery, it was decided that James Bond would wear a Rolex Submariner. But, when the production crew intended to deal with Rolex, they refused to offer a watch for the film. So, Cubby Broccoli decided to use his own Rolex Submariner with black crocodile strap.
The Rolex Submariner accompanied the sophisticated character for years. Its next appearance was in From Russia with Love, followed by Goldfinger, Thunderball and You Only Live Twice. In a bid to update the appearance of the Bond character, Q Branch decided to issue the new Bond played by Roger Moore with a Seiko digital watch.
(James Bond's Seiko's Wristwatch)
These digital watches had numerous gadgets worthy of a spy's 1980s digital watch, but after 5 films, it felt like time for Bond to return to the classic Rolex Submariner, for two more films, The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill. Soon though, the production crew felt the Rolex a bit old fashioned and so they preferred a more minimalistic watch, the Omega Seamaster.
